Are you a writer with a great idea for a television pilot that you are ready to bring to life on the page?
Whether your dream is to sell your pilot, land a job as a staff writer, or to gain representation, every aspiring TV writer needs a compelling and undeniable sample that showcases their talent and their voice. But for your script to stand out, you need to know how to write smart, sophisticated stories, and also need to understand the structured development process inherent to television.
In this exclusive interactive Stage 32 lab, you will work with the former Vice President of Warner Bros. to take your one-hour television pilot from concept to completed script. You will receive direct and personalized feedback on your work throughout the eight weeks so you walk away from this course with a vetted pilot script that can serve as your calling card in the industry.
You will be guided through every step of the development process, from your initial pitch to your completed and revised draft by Rebecca Windsor, who has been responsible for helping launch some of the strongest emerging voices in the industry during her time leading The Warner Bros. Writers’ Workshop and previously at The Sundance Institute. As the Vice President and Head of the Warner Bros. Television Workshop - the premier writing and directing program for artists looking to launch their television careers - Rebecca works directly with up and coming writers to develop their projects and scripts at the highest level. Rebecca helped launch Warner Bros. digital brand Stage13, overseeing the critically acclaimed SNATCHERS, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and SXSW, and SPECIAL, which premiered on Netflix and garnered four Emmy nominations. Rebecca will share with you her wealth of knowledge and experience working with writers and developing projects to ensure your work is ready to make a splash in the industry!
This lab will be a challenging yet very rewarding experience for anyone who wants to take their writing to the next level.
A Note From Your Stage 32 Educator:
- This will be a demanding intensive with strict deadlines for the delivery of material. We’re hoping to emulate the rigor and deadlines faced when developing a pilot with an executive. If material is not delivered on time, we cannot promise feedback in class.
- There may be times that additional revisions to the material are required before moving on to the next step in the development process if we don’t feel the material is strong enough.
