Are you a writer with a great idea for a female-driven television series?

Then it’s time to write your pilot script and bring your unique voice to the industry! Audiences are hungry for TV shows that center on complicated and diverse women. Whether it’s historical romantic comedies like The Great and Bridgerton, thrilling anti-heroine mysteries like Yellowjackets and The Idol, true stories like Inventing Anna and The Dropout, comedies like Hacks or Never Have I Ever, or even superhero shows like She Hulk or WandaVisionthere has never been a better time to tell episodic stories about compelling women.

But to take your character from an idea to the television screen, you’re going to need to know how to write complex women and understand what producers, showrunners, and buyers are looking for in your pilot scripts.

In this intensive and interactive Stage 32 lab, you will work one-on-one with a top literary manager to take your female-driven half-hour or one-hour television pilot from concept to completed script.

You will receive direct and personalized feedback on your work throughout the eight weeks so you walk away from this course with a vetted pilot script that you can show to producers, executives, and production companies.

Taking you through this professional-level training is Audrey Knox, literary manager at Cartel Entertainment, which has hundreds of writer, director, and showrunner clients who have created shows like Awkwafina is Nora from Queens, The Girl from Plainville, Freeridge, and more.

Audrey represents writers and directors who work in in film and TV, and has found a lot of success bringing female-driven pilots to production companies, networks, and studios. She has a wealth of knowledge to share on how to create long lasting, compelling, female-led stories that sell—as well as practical structural guidelines to ensure that your pilot script sets up enough story to ensure your reader that it can launch a whole series of television.

During this hands-on experience you will study successful television pilots alongside a small group of passionate writers in an interactive setting. You’ll also workshop your script and your classmates’ work as a group in sessions and have take-home assignments, so your script and series vision are always progressing and getting stronger.
