You'll apply what you learn to YOUR own writing, receive feedback on your pages, work one-on-one with AZ, and build skills you can use every time you sit down to write.

By the end of the lab, you'll have a stronger understanding of how professional scripts work, greater confidence in your own writing, practical feedback you can continue applying, and a Stage 32 Master Screenwriting Basics Certification showing you've completed the work. And in 2026, having a great story isn't enough. You need to know how to execute it. Whether you're writing your first screenplay, developing your next one, or working toward a career in screenwriting, mastering the fundamentals gives you a foundation you can build on.

You'll learn and train directly with AZ Yeamen, a working writer who has sold nearly every script she's written and become a go-to name for revisions, doctoring, and pitch packages for networks including Netflix, TVOne, Aspire TV, UMC Streaming, and Bounce TV. Most recently, she served as a Story Editor on AMC's ALLBLK. You're learning from someone who understands what it takes to develop professional material and can help you strengthen YOUR work.

Over those 16 weeks, you'll study iconic pilots and films, break down what makes them work, and put those lessons into practice on your own pages. You'll have hands-on feedback, one-on-one time with AZ, and email access throughout the program, so you can ask questions as your writing develops rather than trying to figure everything out on your own. You'll also be part of a dedicated group of writers where you can share ideas, discuss the work, and build relationships with other creatives working toward their own screenwriting goals.

And because life doesn't always fit neatly around a class schedule, you won't miss out if you can't make a session live. Every class is recorded and available in your Stage 32 Library within 48 hours, so you can learn on your schedule and return to the material whenever you need it.
