Animation is having its biggest year yet. A Chinese animated feature just became the highest-grossing animated film of all time, and the demand for original animated content continues to grow. Buyers want bold, original ideas — and the writers who can present them with clarity are the ones getting the meetings.
That’s the real opportunity here: taking everything you’re imagining — your plot, visuals, characters, and world — and transforming it into a deck or bible that energizes artists, informs directors, and shows executives exactly why your project belongs in today’s marketplace. Whether you’re building a feature deck, a series bible, or developing educational or STEM-focused content for kids’ animation, this lab gives you the frameworks to present your vision with clarity, confidence, and a professional industry approach.
Your instructor, Evan Anglin, is the Co-Head of the Animation Department and a Literary Manager at Zero Gravity Management, where he represents award-winning showrunners, feature writers, directors, production companies, designers, and animation/live-action hybrid talent. He’s held leadership roles at Bold Management & Production, Partos Company, and Innovative Artists, and continues to produce projects including STEM NIGHT and THE PANIC.
Evan also knows what it takes to discover and champion emerging writers. Through his Stage 32 Animation Lab, he discovered a writer from the Stage 32 community and signed them to management, helping that writer take the next step toward a professional screenwriting career. With a focus on character-driven storytelling, YA, dark comedies, animation, and hybrid work, Evan understands exactly what makes a pitch deck or series bible stand out — because he’s actively evaluating material, developing talent, and helping writers create opportunities.
Over six weeks, you’ll work with Evan to build the essential pieces of a professional animation pitch deck or series bible. You’ll develop your logline, synopsis, character sections, world overview, episode or act breakdowns, visual tone pages, comps, season arcs, and franchise potential — all while receiving guidance on how to make your materials clear, compelling, and industry-ready.
By the end of the lab, you’ll walk away with a polished deck or bible that reflects your creative voice and gives you a stronger foundation for conversations with executives, producers, artists, and collaborators.
This interactive lab runs on Zoom and goes substantially deeper than a Stage 32 webinar. Once you enroll, you’ll connect directly with Evan, receive a questionnaire designed to shape your sessions around your project, and have access to him by email throughout the six weeks for guidance and feedback as you develop your materials. Can’t attend a live session? No problem — every recording will be available in your Stage 32 Library within 48 hours. Plus, you’ll join a dedicated Stage 32 Lounge where you can connect with fellow creatives, exchange feedback, and continue building relationships throughout the lab.
Testimonial from previous students:
"I thoroughly enjoyed the class. He is an excellent teacher/facilitator. Even's feedback was clear and very helpful. He was supportive and honest. I liked that the class was interactive and participatory." -Sandra
"I cannot say enough good about Evan. Being a retired teacher, I see his good teaching techniques. He was able to pace his lessons well, despite student technical issues and different student personalities. He was patient as a saint. I learned more than I can express on the spot. Evan was great at presenting just the right samples to illustrate his point. One great discovery that is fresh on my mind is that Evan taught me that I can do what I think I can’t if I just give myself the time. This class was definitely worth the money and then some." -Kelly
Testimonial from Evan Anglin:
“Animation is one of the most exciting and opportunity-filled corners of the entertainment industry right now. I’m excited to teach this lab with Stage 32 because it’s a chance to help you turn your wildest ideas into professional, pitch-ready projects. If you’ve ever dreamed of creating an animated show or film, this is the moment to take that next step.”
