Learn what post-production really entails from an Emmy-winning post executive trusted by top creatives.

Get practical workflows, staffing insights, and planning tools you can use on your very next project.

Post production is where your project truly comes to life and becomes what audiences experience. It is one of the most powerful and creative phases of filmmaking. Whether you are creating a short, a feature, or a series, thoughtful post production planning helps ensure your story reaches the screen exactly as you envisioned it. From shaping the story in the edit to delivering a final mix and color that meet industry standards, post production is a creative engine that deserves attention from the moment your project is greenlit!

Too often, creatives assume post-production simply means “editing,” or they wait until principal photography wraps to think about it at all. That delay can lead to costly mistakes, workflow chaos, missed delivery requirements, and creative compromises. Without asking key questions early—like who your post team should be, how media will be organized, or where the project is ultimately headed (theatrical, broadcast, streaming, or festivals)—post gets sidelined. When budgets are tight and the focus is heavily on production, post-production is frequently under planned, and the project suffers later because of it.

Your instructor, Ashley Faison, brings over 15 years of hands-on post-production experience across television, film, and documentary work. As an Executive Producer at Emmy-winning Trailblazer Studios, Ashley has overseen post on a wide range of projects, from coordinating on Comedy Central’s Emmy Award–winning Inside Amy Schumer and Broad City in NYC to supervising series, documentaries, and agency projects nationwide. Her deep understanding of both the creative and logistical sides of post makes her uniquely qualified to guide you through this essential phase with clarity, realism, and confidence.

In this comprehensive webinar, you’ll explore the full post-production ecosystem, from offline and online workflows to sound finishing, staffing roles, organization systems, and final delivery. You’ll learn how to bridge the gap between production and post, avoid common editorial and finishing mistakes, collaborate effectively with post professionals and vendors, and plan your workflow based on your project’s final destination. By the end of this session, you’ll walk away with a clear, step-by-step understanding of post-production and the tools you need to build a smarter plan that elevates your project from day one!
