It is not easy to move from writing in isolation to performing a pitch or coming up with on-the-spot ideas in a room full of people, especially if you're an introvert. Just the thought of extroverted communication is enough to make your hands shake or make you turn back around to your computer screen.

But, did you know that learning improv to help you break out of your shell can help build your confidence and take that anxiety away?

Improv will help you break through the fear and limitations that set in when it's time to adjust your script, your pitch, or even how you sell yourself. It's about more than being able to craft jokes in the moment. It creates an environment where barriers, limitations, and roadblocks can subside. This way, you can access a new set of mental tools by trusting, listening, and responding with creativity and opportunity. Tools you can use in writing, pitching, a writers' room, or networking.

ABOUT YOUR STAGE 32 EDUCATOR

Taking you through your improvisational journey is Sean Blodgett, a multi-hyphenate with over 25 years in entertainment. In addition to appearing in popular series like MAD MEN and PARKS & RECREATION, Sean has developed live shows for Universal Theme Parks, including DONKEY LIVE!, and has held the number one performing, improvising, and puppeteering spot for the character from SHREK for 14 years. In these roles, Sean has perfected the ability to stay creative, think on your feet, adapt to vast crowds, keep energy high to charm the masses, and bounce back from negativity.

WHAT MAKES THIS CLASS UNIQUE

We have created a special, private virtual group that can help you, in just four weeks, to have all the skills you need to feel more confident in your communication and nail any pitch meeting or writers' room with your training in improvisation. There's no need to worry as you enter a small, encouraging group setting that is a safe space filled with open-minded people who want the same skills as you! You will also have access to Sean on email for any questions you have throughout the duration of the class. 

And, at the end of this class you will receive a Stage 32 Writers's Improv Certificate of Completion!
