If you want to sell a television series, a pitch bible or deck is the main way to open doors to producers, managers and executives. The most important thing they are looking for is the sense that your series has sustainability, that it can stay engaging and carry an audience for several episodes or seasons. And if you are writing a pilot script, knowing where your show is going is key to successfully launching your characters’ journeys throughout the series.
Being good at pitching or creating pitch decks does not come naturally. It is a learned skill that you need to undertake to have any chance of garnering interest. Just like a talented actor can be bad at auditioning and therefore have trouble booking work, as a talented writer you might not ever get produced because you did not devote the time necessary to get good at pitching.
Having worked on hundreds of pitch bibles as a development executive, manager, consultant and producer, Anna Henry brings two decades of expertise to guide you through generating story and mapping out your seasons in a pitch bible. She will talk about the key elements you must develop for a successful series and how they lead to generating storylines. She will address serialized and episodic series, as well as limited and mini-series. You will receive and go through checklists (Anna’s trademark writing aid!) to ensure your pitch bible communicates the long-term plan for your show clearly and effectively. And she will give you valuable strategies and tips for pitching your series verbally.
In this special 4-part virtual class, Anna will teach you how to craft an effective pitch bible for your show. She’ll break down what makes a great pitch bible and the elements needed to make it work for you. She will lead you in developing your series, planning character and season arcs, breaking the story, and how to sell your vision.

Praise for Anna:
“This was my first Stage 32 webinar, and it exceeded my expectations, both in terms of quality (and quantity) of information and overall value. Anna was personable, knowledgeable, and organized. The slide deck was helpful, and her overall presentation hit all the key topics. Anna and Stage32 delivered the goods.” - John R.
“What a thoughtful, thorough and inspiring webinar. It's clear that Anna Henry put an enormous amount of work into this presentation. Not only was the content there, but the structure was also superb. I feel educated and inspired to go back to my own work and do better than what I thought was my best. What could possibly be better than that! Thank you Anna for your genius and your generosity.” - Crispin L.
"Comprehensive, insightful. Combined a lot of material I had heard snippets of on character, world dev, etc. but artfully stitched together in one presentation." -James F.
"It was amazing, enlightening - completely. I learned soooo much - especially as a feature writer who's been asked to turn a feature script into a pilot!! Thank you soooooo much."-Kristin G.
